Default Hello :)

HI

I am a new member to the site although I have been reading posts for a while. I have some questions but there is so much information on the board I'm not sure where to put them. Any help is greatly apprecaited. I am so happy for once to know I am not a freak and to know I am not alone

1) Metformin - How well does it work and does it help weight loss (esp combined with exercise)

2) Laser Hair Therapy - Anyone ever go to La Fontaine, how many treatments do PCOS patients usually require. any negaties to it

3) Bleeding during sex - not a lot but more like spotting, just wondering why

4) sex trouble - pain during sex...like an intense pressure in lower abdomen

If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be fantastic
Thanks again!!

I can answer some of these questions based on some experience and things I've read..let's see, hope this is of some help

1) see the section on treatment under Metformin. Met caused me to lose lots of weight - when they say take it with food do or it will cause stomach upset, excersise and good diet is an excellent idea with this treatment.
2) see the section called 'hair in wrong places'
3) there was a post about this in 'do you have this problem': lots of ideas came up like yeast infection, dyness, sti, sex bringing on late period
4) This is probably in 'do you have this problem' section. You can also do a search in each section. I do have this problem as well. Mine is caused by a tilted uterus. For me the pain caused by this is very intense like I'm getting slashed in the abdomin and is most intense pain in certain positions. Sometimes the pain also occurs during certain times of the month like before and during my period and midcycle. It can also be caused by tensing up too much during sex.

Thank you. I will look those up. I have been in some of those sections but the questions kinda varied from what I was looking for. There is one on laser hair therapy though that was great!

Welcome cyster!

Here's my thoughts (for what they're worth anyway LOL)

1. Met worked well for me. I lost weight, my periods came more regularly, and I conceived.
2. Haven't done laser hair removal!
3. I think it would be a good idea to talk with your doc about the bleeding during sex, also it wouldn't hurt to make a special post here at SC, the ladies here are always so supportive and most times I've had questions, someone had the answer!
4. I have pain during sex sometimes (I have polycystic ovaries and a tipped uterus so either of those can cause pain). TMI warning: We have found that for us, doggy-style is the most comfortable. Hopefully you will find a position that works for you so you can begin enjoying yourself again.

Glad to have you here cyster!
Hugs
Jenny
