First of all, thank you to each and every one of you. This is an amazing support group, and it has been so informative!
I was just diagnosed on 10/31/08 at the age of 30. I've never had a period without being on birth control, and finally, after kicking and screaming, my doctor tested me. I've gone through a lot of different emotions of the past few weeks....Relief that I finally have answers for my lack of periods, depression, and weight struggles...Anger that no one tested me earlier in life...Hope that I will finally have control over my body...and I'm scared to death that I'm going to end up complacent...that my new found motivation for working out and eating correctly will go by the wayside. I'm perfectly healthy now, but I do know that if I don't take the right action steps, I will pay for it later.
I am working out on a daily basis, I'm back on birth control, and I'm following a low-carb diet. I'm also taking a ton of vitamins and herbs...I based them off a list I found on here, so thank you
I'm also trying to have an open dialogue about PCOS with my family and friends.
So it's great to meet all of you!!! Cheers to not letting PCOS hold us back
