Default Hello!

Hi gals,

I am new here but not to PCOS. I was used to be super skinny as a teen and then all of the sudden when I was 19 I put on a ton of weight. I just attributed it to moving away from home, but when the weight kept coming and my cycles became irregular I went to the dr and was diagnosed with PCOS. I tried metformin for a few months back in 2002 but I couldn't get used to the side effects and was on such a low dosage that my dr said it wasn't effective.

In 2003 dh and I tried one cycle of Clomid. It didn't work but I got pregnant on my own a few cycles later! After my son was born I didn't really do anything to treat my PCOS.

Now I feel the time has come. I weigh the most I ever have, I have high blood pressure, my hair growth is out of control! My dad is a type II diabetic so I am sure that I am IR and prediabetic.

It is so great to have a place where I can vent my frustrations and feelings about all the crap that goes along with PCOS.

I have been reading about ACV and I've started trying that to see if it helps. I am not really wanting to try Met again so I hope the vinegar helps with my IR and PCOS.

Oh yeah, we are also ttc #2.

I am overweight as well and was just diagnosed yesterday. I will be starting Met on Friday and am worried about the side effects. I wish you a lot of luck!
