Hello! My name is Michelle and I was diagnosed with PCOS earlier this year. I have minor weight problems (i don't look that overweight, i am 6 foot tall, but i cant shake the extra), excess body hair, high blood pressure, acne, and oily face and hair but dry skin everywhere else.
I am torn by my diagnosis, I am not happy with what it is, but i am happy i have an answer. It amazes me that many of my appereance issues i have are caused by somthing that now has a name!
I am taking spironolactone and a bcp, but they still arnt regular yet...
i have a wonderful loving boyfriend who has gone out of his way to understand pcos and he understands the complications from it. I feel so lucky to have him!

I feel much the same as you. I always KNEW something was up, and after many frustrating doctor visits I was just glad to finally have a diagnosis...although now that I have it I'm not too thrilled. :-\ It's a mixed bag. I prefer knowing to not knowing, though.
Meds: Taken off Met!!Doc. wants to see my levels off to make sure I even need it(WooHOO).Put on Spironolactone.Taken off NuvaRing until ready to TTC.

welcome!!!
its a mixed blessing for sure, to finally know your not completely mental and just being paranoid, but your feelings were real and that there is a reason for it and things that can help. it doesnt make it easier to deal with though, even with a name, it still is something you have to actively deal with on a daily basis. some days im angry, and some days im perfectly fine with life and glad to be on the right track. i hope things get better for you now that you know your options and good luck!
