Just joined soulcysters! I already been to this site in the past when I was first dianoised with PCOS. The doctor didn't explain much to me so I was just getting the idea in my head "I can't have children." It was horrible. This site really helped me find hope and now I have faith that I could possibly be a mommy one day! I am going to the doctor soon this month to try to get on Metaformin. I didnt want to be on it first, but after failing to lose weight on my own, I think it could be the only option. However, Ive been reading up on the horrible side effects, so I am still a little iffy. Anyways, I decided to join this site to document my experiences and try to help others out as many women on this site did for me!
My name is Jessie by the way. I am 20 years old and living in South Carolina. I was dianoised with PCOS when I became 18 years old. I was super super skinny until I hit 15 years old, I was always hairy (yuck!), and I started my period when I hit 9 years old. It is when I was 17 when I started skipping them. I am 5'6 and 200-210lbs. I have a very dark line behind my neck, always had very oily skin, and bad acne ((which cleared up when I got on BCP))
I look forward reading up on all the advice I could use and giving back the same!
Hey there! So good that your 18 and know what you have as the younger you are the easier it is to get into really good lifestyle habits that should help with PCOS :O)
Enjoy the site!

welcome to sc! im fairly new too, dx this year, you are lucky that your doctor had a better head on their shoulders then the ones i went to for help when i was about 18 and realized that my body was telling me that something was wrong. im now 23, finally found a doctor who seems to be interested in helping. good luck with everything, and hopefully the side effects wont be to bad for you.
