Hello, I'm glad I found this site because it's given me a lot of good information. My story is that I had a normal period up until I was 23 and when I moved from Cali to NC about a month later I stopped having a period. I thought it was stress so I didn't think anything about it. I also gained a huge amount of weight. Well, since then I have been trying to lose the weight but it won't come off. I also started to get a lot of skin tags on my neck and a couple under my arms with dark skin. Well after 10 years of not having a period I finally decided to go to the doctor in February of 2009 my GYN gave me lexapro because he said i had anxiety and depression because of how my body looks. My second visit he gave me the dx of PCOS in March and was given Yaz. He told me that he didn't want to give me metformin unless I was trying to get pregnant. Well, I was reading on here I saw that I whould go to a endocrinologist in may I went and he gave me metformin xr and he wants me to take 2500mg everyday. I was like wow that's a lot of med. I am starting with one and building it up to 5 tabs at one time a day. Well, thanks for listening and if you have any advise please feel free to let me know.
