hello any one had Laporscopy done to remove a cyst.
hi well i am soon going to have a surgery done a Laproscopy to remove a cyst i have on my left ovary very scared ,,the Endo/inferitily doc says she saw a cyst on the peliic ultrasound and another thing they put a thing on your belly to see the baby i have never been pregnant but i seen it on tv,, also i guess to check inside if theres any other problem?? ,,i guess it would be good to see what else is wrong?? anyways she believes medication will not reduce it and thinks the next step would be the Lap,,,so i am scared never had a surgery in my life just thought of all those needles and cuts,,, putting me to sleep oh i am nervous,,,i hope it is the right thing to do i am 35 and married for 12 yrs now never really went to the doctor because of no money,,no insurance just maybe two year or so until now i have insurance so it would be good for her to see whats going on inside and why i am not getting pregnant right??? i am scared that they might leave me in worst shape or hurt a organ or something ,,,let me know what you think about Laproscopy surgery and if it benefited you or is it a good thing to do fo find the problem the problem why i haven't been able to concive besides not really ovulating,,,,what did you go through after the surgery did your doctor give medication to ovulate after with clomid or ?? any would help let me know anything you have read or experienced,,,thank you ahead of time,,,,,,ladyd sorry i typed to much hee,,,hee ,,,
I've had 2 laparascopes and they aren't bad. They made a small incision by my belly button and another 2 in my pubic area. These are tiny and were closed with just a stitch and a bandaid. The first one I had was to investigate a mass on my left ovary which turned out to be a large chocolate cyst. It was discovered at that time that I had endometriosis and the doctor used the same incisions to insert a laser and zap the adhesions and places of endometriosis. The 2nd time I had one was to remove more of the endometriosis. The doctor was running late for the second one and they gave me a dose of Versaid to help me relax and the next thing I knew, I was waking up in recovery. It is outpatient surgery and once you sleep off the rest of the ansthesia at home, you should feel pretty good. A little sore but not in any great pain. Or at least that's how it was for me. I had pain pills but only took them that first day and they were for the pain in my shoulders from the gas that is pumped into your abdominal area to the doctor has a clear view of your abdominal organs.

I had a laporscopy done in February to remove a cyst on my right ovary. Like the PP said they made a small incision in my belly button and another one off to the side. Its usually an outpatient procedure. The most uncomfortable part is afterwards... not the incisions, but your shoulders and neck from the gases. The Dr will try and remove as much of the gases as possible, but some just gets trapped and then raises up in your body.
By doing my laporscopy they also found out that I have endometriosis and a bicornate uterus. They were not able to fix my endo at that time because I started to hemorage. They ended up doing a laporatomy to fix the hemoraging. Don't worry about it coming to that, its very rare the Dr said that it happened.
Now that I have healed the Dr has upped my dose of clomid and metformin, so hopefully it will go well and I will ovulate.
Good luck to you, and take care!

I've had three, one on the left and two on the right, about one surgery a year, the recovery is easy and the scarring is minimal. Drink plenty of fluids and rest well for the first couple of days, you should be back on your feet in no time but it may take some time for your muscles to heal. every time i have has the surgery my muscles take the longer then anything else to heal. Good Luck to you, you won't feel a thing since the drugs will knock you out and keep you floating during recovery.
I am going to have laporscopy done soon too! When are you going to have your surgery? I have to wait until next week to find out when I will be going in. I have many cysts on my left ovary (we didn't even count) and two in my right ovary that has grown to the size of a softball. I will also have ovarian drilling done after he removes all the cysts. I totally understand your anxiety! I am glad you voiced your concerns. I read the responses and it makes me feel a little more prepared. Good luck! Let me know how it goes!

I had one in 2003 to remove cysts that I got from taking clomid. It was fairly easy. In and out in one day. Rested for about 3 days and was back to normal. I got pregnant 2 months later... It helped a lot. Also, Metaformin 1500mg is what helped me to get pregnant.

I had one done about 5 years ago. It wasn't too bad. The WORST part was them telling me I had to use an enema the night before! GROSS!
Also, they pump your stomach full of gas when they are doing it, so after the procedure, that gas can travel to different places in your body. For me, it went up into my shoulders and collarbone area, and was VERY painful. The nurses told me to take huge breaths and it really helped!! Anyway, I felt fine after a day or two..sore, but fine. I still have scars from it though, which stinks, but they are very tiny and barely visable. Good luck!!!

Everyone recovers at different paces and depending on the intensity of their cystectomy, I recovered in three days and sometimes two weeks it all just depends. Your top priority is always your health and your place of employment needs to be understanding of your condition and specific needs. Don't go back to work too soon since that will just prolong your recovery, you need to be up and moving around when YOU feel you are ready.
Good luck to you, sending positive vibes and big hugs!
