I don't post on here often but as it is one of my 2007 resolutions to start taking proper care of myself and hopefully by the end of the year be on the road to pcos freedom, I thought I should start posting more.
I'm Belinda and I'm currently in a whole world of stress with my 3rd year at university. I study Photography at Nottingham Trent School Of Art and Design.. but too soon I will be out of the education system altogether, thrust into unemployment. I was diagnosed with pcos in 1999/2000 (I was about 15) and have been quite lazy with it since.. other things have taken a priority I suppose. I find the worst symptoms to be my weight and the hirsutism.. but I really don't want to be on serious meds. I've been on mercilon (low dose BCP) for nearly a year now and that's working out really well, no side effects! I have tried a lot of alternative remedies (saw palmetto, NAC etc.) but found them difficult to take regularly.. the size of some of the pills! my saving grace has been the gym, I joined in november and have been going at least 4 times a week since.. I notice a difference already in the way my clothes fit me and what I look like in the mirror naked (doing this before would make me want to cry).. it's brilliant though I need to lose about 5 stone if I'm going to be the right weight for my body frame and height.. erk.
anyway, my question for anyone who lives in nottingham or surrounding areas is.. are there any good doctors you know of for pcos? I'm considering staying on living in nottingham after I finish my degree and need to find a new doctor. my local doctor (in the Swansea area, where I am from) hasn't been good at all.. she doesn't seem to know anything.

Im too from nottingham, ive had many doctors that are useless and just put everything down to the weigh. My current doctors are on glasshouse street and they seem ok so far.
Hope you get a decent doctor im from portsmouth / waterlooville so cant recoomend unless u want to make extremly long journeys lol
