Talking Hello? <echo>

Hi All!

I love the new board and the statistics that can be viewed but has anybody noticed how huge a difference there is between how many 'views' a post has to how many responses?

Maybe the people viewing have nothing to add to the particular post ... i would hate to think that people are out there feeling nervous about posting.

From experience, I can't tell you how many times I have posted feeling absolutely devastated about something only to feel warm and loved by the responses I receive. The support here, and the friendships made here are very important ... after all where else can a bunch of overweight, hairy, hormonal women meet on a regular basis without ending up on the front page on the National Enquirer?

So jump right in all you little lurkers!

Hi Lisa
There have been a few threads on this on the board. I think there are a few ways of looking at it though.

Sometimes I'll read a post a few times before replying so I probably clock up 3 or 4 views if I'm unsure how to answer and don't want to jump straight in, also if I've replied to a thread (love the spot that shows what threads you've been on!) I'll go in and read other people's responses so again I may be on a particular thread a number of times.

Other times I read and just wouldn't be able to answer - if the post had 0 replies and was getting to the bottom of the page I might give it a bump, but otherwise I would probably not bother replying as I wouldn't be able to help.

I know this doesn't help the person that sees 46 views and only 1 response, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this. And I suppose there are a lot of people who are not registered and are jut reading the posts for info, that will all be clocked up.

Anyway, just my view - I didn't reply on the threads on the other forums as I was wary of flame wars - but I did read all the repies so added to the views !!! But we Brits are quite well behaved I think!!!!

What do other people think?

I must admit I do the same, read a post once or twice to see if I can respond. I only signed up for this site the other day and I'm certainly not nervous or shy at posting, altho some ladies might. I agree with what you said tho Lisa wherelse can ladies like us have a good rant and a gossip. Even tho I've only been registered a few days, it's amazing how much better I feel about stuff, knowing I'm not the only poor soul who has gone thru all this pants. I long for the day when I don't have to shave my chest or my stomach!!! Makes me feel so manly, especially at the moment. My other half told me off this morning coz I told him I had more of a tash than him :p

By the way, excuse my daftness, but what does TTC and DX mean? I have to get used to all these abbrieviations....will probably make perfect sense once I'm told lol :p
