Hello everyone!
My name is alexandra, im 32 years old, ive been diagnosed with PCOS 3 years ago, although my symptoms -which were not that bad (regular periods, slightly overweight, mild hirsutism) have started since i was 20. The strange thing is that although my doctor back then did find some cysts on my ovaries, and diagnosed PCOS, during the past 2 years, my new doctor told me that he could see no cysts anymore....Anyway my symptoms are still here so i dont know what to think..... Im currently taking Yasmin bc pills
Im glad i found this board, its seems that everyone here is very friendly and helpful....hope to know everyone better!
Be happy!
ps. pardon my english, but its not my native language...!
From what I understand the BCP's help the cysts go away! But remember, PCOS isn't just about the cysts, it's about the whole package- not everyone has all the same symptoms! It's great that your cysts are gone though. I go in a month to have mine checked, but I can tell they're still there- I can "feel" it. ick. And your English is great for someone who doesn't speak it natively! Welcome to SC!

I am Rania I have been lurking on these boards for more than 2 years now. I also live in Athens, I am 33 and had my first baby 5 months ago. I have had PCOS since my early twenties, slightly overweight, irregular periods, hirsutism etc.
Welcome to Soul Cysters! Everyone here is very friendly and helpful
I'm not too sure about the cysts, but I think it's what Mandy said, that BCP helps to control the symptoms and make the cysts go away.

Hi my name is Amanda and I am 19 years old I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 17, but I think I had it a couple years before when I was like 15 or 16. I think that my doctor didn't want to tell me about it because I was so young. Only 15/16 years old he thought the best way was to put me straight on to birth control. The only reason they had found it was because I had an ovarian cyst and I went into surgery to have it lanced. Then it returned, and when they did the ultrasound they found the PCOS. I am battling symptoms like fatigue, mood swings, irregular periods, weight gain, and hair loss. I was on birth control at 16 and got off when I was 18. My husband and I now want to have a baby and I am afraid of the fertility pills.
Thank you for listening to my story. It really feels good to talk to people that have the same thing I do.
Alexandra ... I am so envious! I love Greece culture! I hope to go there one day!
Amanda ... I was very scared and sometimes still am when it comes to PCOS.
The ladies here are absolutely wonderful and very supportive. You both have definitely come to the right place to learn about PCOS and have a great support system!
