I'm so excited that I've found a place where I can go to ask all of these questions that most people don't understand!!
INTRO/DIAGNOSIS
My name is Erika and I was diagnosed with PCOS in March of 2008. Through an ultrasound, the doctors saw that I have multiple tiny cysts all over both of my ovaries.
HISTORY
I have 2 healthy kids (Jadyn - boy - Age 3 (almost 4), Aleiya - girl - Age 2) and I had no trouble conceiving either of them, although I have had 2 early miscarriages (9 weeks, & 5 1/2 weeks).
SYMPTOMS
Because I had been charting my symptoms since April, 2005, I kept pretty good track of my cycle. My cycles have always been somewhat irregular, but never non-existant until February of this year. My last period was January 23rd, 2008 and I've had nothing since. I have also had quite a bit of trouble with my weight for several years. I really haven't been in a great deal of pain which I'm grateful for. Now and then, I do have sharp pains around my ovaries and I can go weeks with a generalized crampiness all over in my abdomen. Right now, I am pretty miserable with cramping. I am kind of wondering if maybe the Provera is causing it since it is supposed to cause a period?
MEDS
My doctor has put me on Metformin 500 mg, 3 X a day and I recently have started Phentermine to help assist weight loss since I haven't had any changes or side effects with Metformin. Last of all, I am on day 6 of a 10 day regimen with Provera so I'm crossing my fingers that it will end this 121 day cycle!!
