I am 28 and have two DDs (4 and 2 1/2 ) My DH and I have been TTC for over two years now. In that time I have only had 4 cycles that were induced by provera but no ovulation.
In November I saw an OBGYN who prescribed Glucophage for me without any labs or exam. I have a lot of the symptoms of PCOS. I swelled up on in and she didn't think my concerns were important enough to even talk to me about so I stopped going to her.
My regular MD in April did a bunch of blood work and my total testosterone and my free testosterone is high apperently.
I tried a new OBGYN and he did a little more work. I just did a round of Clomid 50mg after provera. I did not ovulate. My side effects were pretty unbearable. Most were normal like hot flashes, cramping. But I got really lightheaded and almost passed out one day and I really think it was the meds. My doctor decided I shouldn't do anymore clomid and just take natural progesterone for 3 months and not monitor my cycles. He told me I should thank God for the kids I have and if GOD wants me to have another one I will just get pregnant, that it isn't my baby its God's.
If I had a cold I wouldn't pray to get better, I would take medicine. I did the whole wait and see thing for 2 years. I am have baby fever. I just think any doctor who wants me to pray instead of treat me is not the doctor for me. He also told me I shouldn't read anything on the internet about infertility or PCOS. That is how I got diagnosed with PCOS is by learning about it online.
Sorry this was so long, but we are now going to go to a RE to conceive. I am really worried because I am very overweight and I have already lost 30lbs but I am worried that they are going to want me to lose extreme amounts of weight before treating me. I have not been below 200lbs in 6 years. And I have an extremely hard time losing weight.
I wanted to know if you thought I was on the right track. And what to expect from the RE. And anyone elses insight and/or experience would really make me feel a little better about this.
I am VERY heavy and had my two girls that way!
They are 3 and 1.
You shouldn't have to wait to loose weight before you get teatment if you don't WANT to wait!
I would say to find a Doctor who is more understanding!!!
