Hi! I am a forums junkie, and most of the forums I frequent have to do with tropical fish. I decided this was the year for me, and switched doctors recently. My new doctor has diagonsed me with PCOS and diabetes, along with my other problems of hypothyroidism, and sleep apnea. I am so glad I found her, because my other doctor had missed the diabetes and PCOS, and my sleep apnea was only discovered after I did some research on my own about my low energy level. I must admit though, with the very high stress level I stay at whether I'm at work or at home, anyone would feel tired. I have changed my way of eating, and have been on Met for awhile, and recently upped my dosage to 1500 mg., hopeing that the increase in the Met will reduce the facial hair and the adult acne. I have also lost at least 20 pounds, and have gone down 2 sizes in my pants! I have just ordered "The New Dawn" book and am probably gonna try the elimination diet when the book arrives. What a great site! I'm learning so much already!
Hey welcome to SC from a fellow Floridian!! You have come to the right place for knowledge and support, all these ladies(and even a few guys) are all really cool people and are willing to help!!! That's great that you have been making so much progress on your dieting and Met has really changed my life around, especially after I hit the 1500 mg mark. Glad you found us!!! BTW are you a seminole fan cause I went to UF and it's always funny to talk to someone who knows of the rivalry between the Gators and the Noles!!!

I'm not just a Seminole fan, but am a Seminole alumnus! I will probably be changing my avatar to that effect. And I know all about the Seminoles/Gators! I actually have a husband who doesn't give a flip about sports on TV, so we really don't keep up with the games, but the rivalry still continues where the 2 schools are involved!
But seriously, thank you so much for the warm welcome! It's nice to know you are not alone.
Oh No! Not another Seminole! j/k My husbands best friend is a Gators fan, and his wife is a hardcore Seminole. Needless to say, during football season, they go at it pretty bad! lol It's funny.

"How does one become a butterfly?" she asked pensively.
"You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar."
Don't worry, I'm not obnoxious about it. I work in the law enforcement/judicial area and have a son with mental health issues and learning disabilities, so my energy is pretty zapped all the time. I'll play nice.
I too am a forum junkie!New to this one and a little off subject but I see you guys in Florida survied this last hurricane.I am in south Alabama and it got pretty rough here!
Oh but the season is young Stephanie, and FL is like a red flag waving to a bull of a hurricane, lol. Sorry you had to endure Dennis, and I hope it's the last storm you'll see!!! I wish this season was over now, but I guess we'll have to cross our fingers and say a little prayer that it doesn't get as bad as last year!!!

I noticed that bought the book New Dawn, I heard that you can get a blood test down without doing the eliminations diet. Though I know it is costly. A friend said that there is a company here in the States that goes through your insurance (blood test) with only $75.00 for follow up care (someone that comes to your home). Here's the website .. might be worth looking into. Alcat test; http://www.alcat.com/ .

Wow! The blood test now offered by the author of "A New Dawn" is $1500.00 and they do not accept insurance. This may be a great option for a lot of us who do have insurance, and don't have $1500.00 to shell out! Thanks for the link! I've already sent them an email!
