My name is Veronica (aka Gravity) and I joined last Thursday (4/13/06). Something came up right after so I wasn't able to post and then everyday after I completely forgot! LOL
Anyway, I'm 25 and the first time I was diagnosed was when I was I think 15 or 16, can't remember for sure. Anyway, I was diagnosed with an ovaran cyst and was put on some prescription, can't remember what it was called, to start my period since the cyst had kept my body from doing so. The medicine brought my period on and then I was switched over to birth control pills which I was on for a year before I asked to be taken off as I felt very tired and run down from them (I flat out refuse to take them again, and still refused when I was told by doctors that they'd "tweak" with the levels until they found one that would work). At last check, the cyst had melted, but this was years and years ago. I haven't been tested since for more for the simple fact that I'm too afraid to do so as lame as that sounds.
I still have several symptoms of being polycystic, the main thing being facial hair. I've got hair not only on my face (which is a HUGE cause of embarassment for myself on a daily basis) but on other places over my body as well. Since I have very dark hair, it's very noticable.
I found this site when I did a search for vanquia, my Mom suggested I try to get it. I can't say how much of a relief a board like this is. It's nice to have the option to talk to others who know what it's like.
