Hey everyone! I'm new to the group, just joined today. Tuesday night I had an ultrasound and was told I have PCOS. I've done a lot of research on it and know for sure it's not the end of the world. My spirits are high! Given, I'm slightly unsure that I'll be able to change my diet accordingly and lose LOTS of weight that needs to be lost, but... I'm giving myself some time to adjust and gain some confidence. It's funny because DH and I have been actively TTC for nine months and I decided after the 7th month came and went with a BFN that I needed to be healthier. So we stopped eating out as much, joined the gym - and have kept going, a miracle! haha - but I still haven't lost but 6lbs. I didn't even think much about it b/c it felt so good working out! Anyway, Monday was my OBGYN appt and she had my blood drawn and prescribed Metformin for me. The next night I found out why we weren't conceiving. So it's a relief to know something is wrong with me. Who knew I would EVER think that... LOL! I'm just still processing it all and trying to figure out what to do next.
Other than the current state of crisis (haha), DH and I have been married for 1 1/2 yr now, and although there are rough patches, marriage is great! I work full time for a Tradeshow Decorator and get to travel 6-8 times a year, which can be fun. My family is very important to me. I love to watch movies. I've been ADDICTED to uverse since we had it installed in February... and have fallen in LOVE with the shows: Bones, Life, Medium. I like to write, read, scrapbook and have started sewing - kinda scary. haha.
I'm looking forward to meeting other women with PCOS. Hope everyone has a fantastic rest of the day! Remember to smile!
Olivia

Hi Olivia,
I too have just been diagnosed and DH and I have been trying to start a family for over 2 years now. I love your "remember to smile"...I often say "Smile it makes your teeth happy" I know its silly but it usually will make people smile. I too am releaved to have a "label" so we can get the help we need to get our family growing.
