Hello, I'm So Happy To Be Here And More About Myself Hi to everyone here! I am so relieved to find this group!!! I'm going to try to update my profile now that I've seen the abbreviation code. LOL! Looking forward to discussions and support (both giving and receiving)! Based on what I've read so far, I'm a Thin Cyster.
In addition to recently being Dx w/ PCOS, I also have Hoshimoto's Thyroiditis Disease. For those who don't know, it's an autoimmune disease that causes your body to attack the thyroid gland. People who have Hoshi's are also hypothyroid. So in addition to having the problems w/ getting PG and staying PG w/ PCOS, I also have the same issues w/ Hoshi's. I was diagnosed w/ Hoshi's at age 9, which is very very very uncommon.
I was on BCP since the age of 15 b/c my AF was completely out of control. Very heavy bleeding for extended periods of time. I was on BC until Nov., 2008. AF was coming regularly until April, 2009. Then NOTHING! I was POAS constantly to check if I was PG. Nope. I went to my ob/gyn b/c I was having pelvic pain. Sure enough...PCOS was the culprit. He confirmed the Dx via ultrasounds and blood tests.
So now, I'm TTC b/c I know it may be a long road and I'd rather start now then wait. Although I have the urge to throw a pity party for myself from time to time, I'm trying to keep a positive attitude about the whole thing. I'm relieved to have found a place to get so much information and get real support from real women!!
I hope I properly used the abbreviations!
