Default Hello from a longtime lurker

Hi everyone! I have been reading this board for a long time, but never posted. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 7 years ago, but have only recently come off of birth control pills so now the real fun is beginning (insert sarcasm here). I have pretty much every symptom from no period to horrific hirsutism to obesity, so yay for me. However, I am truly grateful for Soul Cysters, so I figured after lurking forever, I'd say hello.

    Hi there!

As for steps....Well, I'm trying to get to a healthy weight - I have about 45 pounds to lose to get there. I am doing Weight Watchers and going to the gym 3 times a week right now, but so far I've only lost 2 pounds!! I'm hanging in there though. It's only been a couple of weeks.

I've taken supplements on and off over the years (NAC, saw palmetto, cinnamon, chromium picolinate to name a few) but have never consistently remained on them, so I'm now getting serious about that. I'm just trying to figure out what to take now....I am little overwhelmed with all of the different supplements and possible remedies out there.

    How about you?

Yes im a lil farther as you can see in my signature at the bottom of my post. Im doing injectables for the first time! :o) Yes I am a lil overweight myself...such a struggle. Lots of peopel say thats the first thing you need to do...honestly this is what my doctor said; " I could tell you to go lose some weight and come back....but ive seen it so many times women come back to me after tons of dieting excercising and with no weight loss saying "this is me doctor....what do we do next?" and he told them thats normal and they can either try longer with diff diet plans or get the ball rolling the way they are" So thats where my head is at...if I lose weight along the way GREAT!!
Are you seeing an RE, OBGYN or reg doctor? Have you discussed any plans beyond the natural supplements. and no I haven't done any of the natural supplements I keep hearing about...Prenatal thats about it!

    Default Hi there!

I'm also a long-time lurker and just coming off the birth control pills. Not trying to conceive, just want to try regulating my own hormones for once. So I've decided to give Vitex a try...

I've been off the bcp for almost a month now and man, it's been pretty much this since then:

But I'm gonna give Vitex 3 months to do its thing and then reevaluate.

when I went off BCP a year and a half ago, I noticed within the first couple months I became very moody, tired and depressed. It was strange to see what the BCP actually helped with. I didn't know until I stopped using them what they really did for me! Hairs on my chin started to come in quick and I have to pluck every day now. I also gained some weight more then likely from eating and snacking when I didn't feel well. I had a regular period for 10 months after beign off but then straight back to no periods or once and a while. When I started taking metformin I regulated my Cycles again which was nice but thats about it!

I had a similar experience coming off BCP as well. I gained about 10 pounds over a 2 month period and my facial hair situation dramatically worsened.
