Question Hello Newbie here!

Hello, I was just dx with PCOS on 9-25-07. I have been taking Metformin 2000mg (four pills a day). I started spotting on 11-15-07 and have not stopped yet. My doc seems to think that two 1000mg is going to be better than the four 500mg I am currently on. It seems like the same dosage to me. Has anyone ever had this problem. I am suppose to schedule a Hysterosalpingogram when my first period starts, problem is that it is too hard to tell what is spotting and what is period.

Thank you. I have started taking the 2 - 1000mgs of fortamet (1 in morning and the 2nd one in the evening). It seems like it may help so far, but only time will tell.

Well, just a f/u just in case anyone has the same problem. Two days after I started taking the new dosage two times a day of 1000mg of metformin, in stead of the four times a day of 500mg of metformin, the spotting stopped immediately. I am finally so happy, now mayby I can conceive. Hoping with fingers crossed. I think that maybe in those 43 days of spotting, I may have had a light period too.
