Hi cysters. I just started on 2000 mg of Gluc xr, 20 mg of liptor, and a ten day regimen of provera....all on the same day(yesterday) I feel horrible. I kinda expected it but, I think I've only consumed about 300 calories today. Anything normal makes me sick and (TMI) I'm having serious runs. Can anybody tell me what I can eat that won't make me sick? And how long soed it take for this initial ickiness to go away.
Thanks Ang
I don't know what to tell you other than I know how you feel. Whenver I feel "yucky" on glucophage, I end up loading up on calories....I normally drink, a soda (not recommended) to take the icky feeling out of my throat. However, it does not help with the nausea or diarrhea.
Wow--hang in there! Hopefully the side effects will lessen as your body adjusts to these new meds. When I was sick when I began taking Met, I ate some rice, which helped a lot. Also, Immodium A/D became my friend--I highly recommend stocking up on some!
Good luck,
Jennifer
Stay away from candy, salad, fried food, greasy foods, baked goods. Just to name a few. Also try taking your met at the same time every day. I found that it helps.
Sorry you are feeling so icky!!
I remember that I felt yucky for a while too!!!
Pam
You are all the best. I definetly will go get some ammodium. I think I might call my doc though and see if I can stay on just 500 mg of the gluc xr until after Thanksgiving.I'm supposed to help my sis cook dinner for our monsterous family. I don't think, in the long run it will make any difference.
Hugs,
Ang
I think that perhaps you should ease up with the XR. Usually, you do 500 for a week then 1000 for week then 1500 and so on. Taking 2000 mgs of XR just to start off is like....hell.....talk to your doc and see what he says. Also, be careful with the Immondium (if they didn't have i'd never leave the house...lol) for some reason it seems to make me worse gaswise. I hope you feel better soon!
