New to PCOS need advice, my hair is falling out and I'm really worried
Anyone who can give me advice on what I should do is more than welcome to e-mail me with it. I was diagnoised in December of 04 and I am currently taking spirolactone for help with the hormone levels. I first went to the doctor because I noticed a little hair loss and some other problems. My hair is now really thin and to the point if I wear it down you can see scalp. I called my DR and she is supposed to be getting me in to see a Endocrynologist but I may have to wait till April. I'll be bald by then! My husband is so concerned and I am as well. Anyone who can help would be greatly apriciated. I am so scared!! I posted this on a different thred but I need help so I'll put it on them all... I do feel the depression releated to PCOS. I'm fat, I now have less hair, I try everything but nothing I am doing is helping. I wish I could get more answers from my DR but I know they are doing eveything they need to. Frustration and so many other feelings. I cry all them time mostly when I am alone but I don't want to act like it affects me. I guess that would be called denial. I feel bad for my husband, we want children and its hard for him not to point out cute baby clothes. He wants to make me better but doesn't know how. He is in this just as much as I am. I have gained weight and I know that affects him and now I'll be fat and bald. I hope he remembers he loves me for what's inside. I used to be so nice to look at now I'm not. what a mess I would not wish this on my worst enemy.

I am not sure about the hair loss part, but I have heard that scalp massage helps increase circulation thus growing more hair.

I have thin hair too. One of the girls at work told me about this leave in conditioner called So Sexy Hair Soy-tri Wheat Leave in Conditioner, and the hair is actually growing. I swear by that stuff. It isn't a miracle drug for thinning hair because it takes some time, but it DOES work. I bought mine at a salon.
