Default Help!

I have been on lustral (I think its called Lexapro or Zoloft in the USA) for a while (50mg a day) but suddenly I was feeling 'chesty' and itching all over so I called my GP and told her that I had read that one of the serious side effects of this drug was itching all over, and if you get this you should contact your doc immediately. She suggested that I discontinue use, so I did and I was ok for over a week but suddenly I am VERY apathetic and lethargic, achy all over, feeling sick, weepy, quick tempered, sleepy and just feeling crappy - kind of like I have a flu coming on....I can only think that this is withdrawals but am not sure - what do you think?

Also, I have a back problem which has just came back to haunt me and its very sore, but I can't take any painkillers because aspirin and paracetamol don't cut it and the pills that the doc gives me make me spaced out and even more sleepy.

I am just feeling sorry for myself - I could just cry right now!

You should call your doctor back and find out what they suggest..you never know it could be something serious...just call to be sure..or maybe they could give you something to alleviate some of the discomfort...let us know what they say.

That is very dangerous to take a person off of anti depressants cold turkey. When people say that they want to go off, it is always recommended that they do it with the help of a doctor and that it's gradual. Yes, to me, it sounds like withdrawal symptoms. i would call your doc back, explain that you are going through what you think is withdrawal symptoms and see if there is something you can do. perhaps a smaller dosage of zoloft or whatever you are on. I hope that helps.

thanks girls

things got so bad yesterday that I decided to take another pill - and then just not take another until I feel another unless I feel the withdrawals coming back...I was looking at some sites about withdrawals which have helped;

http://anxietyhelp.org/treatment/medication/zoloft.html

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/19990501/msgs/5582.html

if anyone has any problems like mine then I would advise you to have a look these.
