First off, how many mgs. are you taking at one time? Are you making sure you eat something before you take it and are you drinking lots of water?

I take 500 mg. with breakfast, 500 mg. with lunch and 500 mg. with dinner. I always make sure I eat first and I drink lots and lots of water and I have yet to have one side effect. I do get the poops now and again, but nothing that I can't deal with.

I hope that I've been able to help you some.

GOD BLESS,

Angel is right..taking it wth food helps a lot. I also wish I had known how slowly you can dose up your Met. I would clear it with your Dr, but a lot of ladies here start at 500 and stay there for a week or two (or more) until their body handles it well. Then they continue to dose up slowly like this (in 250 mg or 500 mg increments) until they hit their full dose without problems.

Also, have you moderated your carbs at all? I found this almost totally eliminated my side effects...I cut my carbs back to between 60-100 g per day and it made an instant difference. Often you don't have to go super low carb to really feel a difference.

I know how hard it is to start the drug (and be THAT familiar with your bathroom! ), but try to be patient with your body starting out. Take care.

Default Thanks for the advice

Hey guys,
Thanks for the advice i take 850 mg twice a day! I have not been eating many carbs anyway cause before i started the medication i was dieting anyway!
I will try drinking a ton of water with it too and i always make sure that i eat! Maybe what i am eating is just agreeing with the metformin and me!
