Default Help from cysters who've had chemical pregs.

I just experienced my first chemical preg. and it was such a disappointment. I understand what happens but I dont understand why.

Nurse said I had to wait a cycle before going back on clomid. Is this really necessary? Re was out of town.

Do you think I need to up my clomid? My p4 was 18.5 this cycle, which I think is fine, but it seems like the meds arent "building" good enough eggs or something. I just dont really understand all this.

do you think dh and I should get genetic testing? I had a blighted ovum in 96, then had my son in 98, and now a chemical preg. in 03. My stats arent very good...three pregs, one baby.

If anyone has any good links or good info on chemical pregs. and what it all means in the grand scheme of things, please let me know.

Thanks cysters,
Barb

Usually dr.'s say this just so they can better date the next pg. Some want one good cycle to make sure everything is OK in that department. Some want to give time for you to heal emotionally. The above reason are with any type of miscarriage - not just a chemical. If you feel you are ready, tell you dr. - tell him you are trying no matter what he says.

I also think this is fine. I don't think you need to up the Clomid. The Clomid did work - you had a good O and you got pg. It may be a problem with your lining. Maybe the baby couldn't attach well because of this. Talk to your dr. about estridiol for your next cycle - it helps build a nice smooth lining. You take it for 5 days after the Clomid.

If it would make you feel better go ahead. But remeber, PCOS does make it easier to miscarry. Also, if there is no problems with son - it is most likely PCOS and not your genes.

I don't know of any off hand. But, if I find something online I will post here. Also, check out the Coping with Miscarriage board - go back to the beginning and read the old post - there may be links in there.
