Help finding Dr/RE in SE MI Detroit area

Hi -

I had posted a few months ago... however, I think since the site was revamped that some of the other posts have been lost.

I was wondering if anyone had a good dr and or RE they could recommend? I have gone once to Gary Jones at Oakwood Hospital, however, I feel that he is really dependent on me losing weight before he will proceed with me.

DH and I have been TTC for almost a year and I have been on 1500 mg Met during that time to regulate cycles and help me O regularly. So far not doing that very good and I would like to move onto clomid or femera but haven't lost the weight that Dr Jones wanted me to lose before I came back to see him.

Any one with recommendations or help out there would be greatly appreciated!

I started going to Dr. Gina Long a couple of years ago and I love her. She takes her time and listenes to what is really going on and she knows about PCOS which I have had a hard time finding. She works out of St. Joseph in Ann Arbor and also has a office in Plymouth. I used to live closer but moved to Dearborn but she is well worth the drive. thanks so much for the info! Even though she is a ob/gyn was she helpful with your PCOS and fertility treatments (if you wanted them?)

I am just trying to find a good dr to help us that is not fatphobic - yes I know if lost weight, however, I'm struggling with it and don't want to have to put off TTC as it has already been a year.

Anyone else have dr to recommend?

My husband and I have only been married a short time but she told me that when I was ready to come in and we could start treatment. She said that there was no point waiting because we already knew the problems I would have. As far as being fatophobic, I wouldn't say she is. I weight about 40 lbs. more when I started seeing her and she never hounded me to lose the weight. I ended up losing the weight due to something else and she congratulated me when I saw her next but that was it. Good Luck!!! Meranda

HI, ladies.. I am also looking for a doctor... I live in Southgate.. I have an ob right now but she is pushin in her 70's and I really want someone new with more knowledge in the pcos catagory.. Not that she is not a good dr. If anyone knows of any good dr's please let me know. You can always IM me on AOL at AIMEED78
