Do you mean that you don't have cysts on your ovaries? That doesn't necessarily mean you don't have PCOS. Strange as it sounds, it is possible to have PCOS without having cysts. In fact, I've never had an ultrasound done to check for them because my gyno doesn't consider it necessary unless I have problems. But I'm pretty confident they're there because I had one rupture!

Usually a diagnosis of PCOS is made based on your symptoms and your hormone levels after excluding other problems that could be causing those symptoms. I would recommend having your new doctor redo your blood work to see if it is indicative of PCOS. Good luck with getting a diagnosis and trying to become a mommy!

This is true. I was diagnosed with a blood test and symptoms. My ovaries have never been looked at .

Just wanted to say that I was diagnosed through blood tests and exhibiting the "classic" PCOS symptoms. No one every examined the state of my ovaries. Also, I was diagnosed by my endo, not my gyno. My former gyno was an older "old school" doctor, and just told me to get some excercise and diet, and when I brought up the possibility of PCOS, just dismissed it.

Best of luck to you!

Well with my first doctor he said that my ovaries were full of cysts and now the new doctor said that my new ulrta sound that my ovarieds are normal I am not happy with this new doctor though went today to have more blood work done because the ordered the wrong tests last time well I asked if he had ordered for my testosterone levels to be tested and the lab tech today told me no he hadn't well I do no think that this doctor is very thouroul sorry my spelling is bad. I am confused and I just cannot believe it I do not I think I am going to go for a third opinion because I just cannot live assured either way I have to many PCOS symptons facial hair the weight around the middle my husband calls me chicken legs. hahaha and I have not been able to concieve for 10 years my husband now has fathered 7 children so I know it is not him with the problems. It is so hard to find a good doctor and the right doctor. Anyway thanks for listening but it is just so frustrating all the go around and I am all for knowing what is going on inside of my body I feel that I am a woman that is pretty in tune with my body. Any way any more advice would be great thanks!!! Tia

Have they done an ultrasound of your ovaries? It is so hard to get diagnosed. My bloodwork was normal but my ovaries lookes like a grapevine.
