Ok, so recently I started two medications at once and Im having a hard time figuring out which one *could* be the culprit of these new icky headaches. I am getting these very sharp, stop you in your tracks, pains in the same exact place on my forehead.. about an inch above my right eyebrow, always in the same place. Could be my sinuses, I guess, but the pain is intermittant and seems to happen only in the evenings.. wtf?? How can this be?
I started on Ortho-tri the same day I started 50 mg of Spiro. Ive been on Ortho before and dont recall any headaches, but this is the first time Ive been on Spiro.
Has this happened to anyone? I asked my mom first and she said its probably a tumor.. har har.
Oh, as a side note, the spiro is obviously for the hair and I didnt think it could be possible, but Ive actually noticed a difference in the hair on my face in these two weeks! It seems less aggressive.. Im so happy about that, I just hope that I can continue with this arsenal as well as the Met.
Weird! I am having the same problem but with 2 totally different medications! I started 1500mg glucophage xr & effexor (antidepressant) around the same time and now I'm getting headaches every day. I can't figure out which is causing them!

i have those same headaches....i could be fine and walking down the hall at school and then bam...the headache right above the right eyebrow....i dont know what its from....i have been under alot of stress but those headaches are far less painful than the other ones. i cant say much about medication because i havent been taking mine :S i was on provera for about 2 years but my doctor took me off of it because i used to get really sick....she said id start feeling better....that was back in april....i still dont feel any better....maybe its because im not takin my other pills (dianne 35 and spironolactone) maybe the headaches dont have anything to do with the pills...but maybe it do....the best bet would be to go to your doctor....

I took spiro for five years and it gave me horrible migraines if i didn't drink tons of water.I think it lists migraines as one of the side effects of spiro.I used to combat them by downing tons of water but the bathroom trips are ridiculous on this med especiallt with all the water you have to drink on it.Keep in mind that it is a diuretic.Water is a must!

Frenchie, thats what I was thinking too.. not enough water. Since I wrote that I started throwing back all the water I could and Ive noticed the headaches are lots less frequent. I dont think Ive ever had a migraine, or if I did, I didnt know it. Did the headaches subside with exposure to the medication or was it a constant struggle for 5 years?? I dont think I could have these kind of headaches for that long.. id go bonkers.
ange84, they sound like the same kind of things. Its really quite surprising how fast and sharp they are. I probably look ridiculous when I get one.. hahh
The headaches subsided after about 3 months because i built myself up to taking 200 mgs per day. That was the only dosage that helped my acne at first but after about 2 years i was able to back down to 150mgs per day.The headaches came and went.I could usually tell if i wasn't hydrated enough and had to drink water and take a tylenol occasionally.I had to go off the Aldactone (brand name works better than generic for some reason)because i suddenly became very allergic to it.Hives, difficulty breathing, rapid heartbeat, and migraines so awefull that i couldn't get out of bed.My doctor never told me that it contains a small amout of sulfur in it and i developed a very bad allergy to all sulfur meds.It sucks because Aldactone worked wonderful for me.All my acne was gone within 3 months and my hairgrowth slowed way down!So if you can handle the stuff stay on it because it works wonders!Good luck.
