i got a bfp on the 3rd july this year which would have made me approx 6 weeks when i found out,i took about 10 tests over the space of a week and all were positive, i have had loads of symptoms up until today. i had my first scan today which would have i would have been 12 weeks and there was just nothing there!! absolutely nothing!! i have had no bleeding and no pain at all and didnt have a clue anything was wrong, my belly was growing and everything. they did another prgnancy test at the hospital and it came back bfn!!!!!! i just dont understand where is my baby?? i am so heartbroken
I am so sorry you are going through this right now. Sometimes it takes our bodies a while to recognize that the pregnancy isn't viable. I didn't miscarry until almost 4 weeks after my baby passed. It sounds like you might be describing a blighted ovum- where there is just an empty sac- the baby never starts to develop. Did your doctor mention what might be happening/what you can expect?
I would call your doctor back to ask what you should do. Did you ever get a pos. test at the doctors, or was the 12 week scan based on your HPT? Was there an empty sac or was there nothing at all? (I apologize if these questions are upsetting, but they are important in figuring out what is going on.)
I'm so sorry! Sometimes, if a loss happens early enough, the body can reabsorb the baby. Maybe that's what happened in your case? I'm just guessing, though. Also, I'm assuming they checked your tubes, just in case it's ectopic, right? Although, by 12 weeks, the tube should have burst.
thanks everyone for the kind words again, i have done some research and it sounds as though i had a blighted ovum as i took about 10 different branded tests over the space of 4 days and all were bfp so i no i was def preg but nothing at all showing on the u/s so my baby stopped developing early on but my body still thought it was preg so im still waiting for the heartbreaking af to arrive!! this is so hard to deal with!!
