Default HELP I need some advice.

I am 27 yr old mother of 3, one girl 2 boys. I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 21. I had regular cycles up until about a year and a half ago. I have always been over weight. I believe I have had PCOS since i began my cycle at the age of 9. I was of average weight and height until then. I began putting on weight. Which yeah I did eat more back then. But at the age of 15 i was over 100 lbs over weight. And my grandparents and my orthopedic suggested bypass surgery. Well I had it lost to about 140, until I had kids. After my first child in May of 1999 i was losing it well. Then i got pregnant with my second child and he was born in May of 2000. I then got on the Depo shot(worse thing I have ever done) I gain alot of weight back then. In March of 2001 I had surgery to remove cysts from my ovaries. And my GYN then told me i had PCOS. Well I had my youngest in 2004, hd no problem getting pregnant with him. Well the begining of 2006 I began missing cycles. I eneded up pregnant in July 06 and miscarried in Aug of 06. Well my GYN then put me on Metformin for the PCOS and said that should help get my weight under control. Well it really hasn't I havent gained any really I'll lose a couple pounds then gain it back. Well i have always had like side burns on the side of my face i would usually just curl them cause they grew just like my hair. Well in April of 07 I was diagnosed with scoliosis and brittle bone. I know with my weight its not good for my bones or my health really. I never et really I never have an appetite. And now in the past few days I have been researching alot of things from brittle bone to PCOS. And I have come to learn that the infertility of the POCS and brittle bone go hand in hand. I dont believe I can have anymore children any way. But With the back spasms from my scoliosis I couldnt carry another child. But If i Had a hysterectomy would it cause me to gain more weight or would it case me to slow down with producing the male hormone and beable to loss some of the weight. My husband and I work out 3 days a week at our local fire station. He tones his and mine seems to do no losing just toning. And now with my back spasms I am embarrassed to go anywhere. Because being a stay at home mom means doingall the house work but I have no energ and with the back pain and Spasms I can't get anything done. If anyone has any advice about having a hysterectomy please reply. I am desperate. I am also depressed about the whole situation.

I haven't had a hysterectomy so I have no advise for you. But you are not alone in the symptoms you have. Hugs!

I can't imagine how overwhelming all of this must be for you right now. What does your DH think about it? While I personally haven't had a hysterectomy, I've known many women who have gone through them. As you know, it's not an easy think to endure. My mom was VERY young when she was forced to have hers, and it was tough on all of us. I would recommend that you talk to your DH about it. Ask your doctor if she/he would be willing to arrange time to sit down with both you and your DH to discuss risks/benefits/alternatives. Sorry I have no real great insight here. Mostely I wanted to send you a cuz I'm sure you could use one.

Where did your doctor say your hormones were? Did s/he test for hormones? You have to get these into balance for you to feel better.

Met. can certainly be a part of the treatment, but there is more you can do too.

Check out Elizabeth Vliet's books -- they are an eye opener.

GL!
