Ok, so here is the low down, and hopefully you all can shed some much needed light on this situation! This post is going to be long so I apologize, but please just bear with me and give me some input.
I was DX with PCOS when I was 15 and had ammenorreah from age 13-16, when I was put on BCP. I just recently got married and after reading up on some natural treatments of PCOS, decided to go off of the BCP with a regime of a good diet (low carb, high protein and fiber) and exercise, and have been off of BCP for a month. I've already lost a few pounds- even though I am still overweight. I have been on 250 mg of metformin since then (trying to build up to the 1000 mg prescribed), and I was on metformin once before but with my endicro decided to just stay on the BCP and try metformin when I was TTC. Well now we're not exactly TTC, but not trying to not, just seeing what happens for the time being (we have a lot of time for trying!) I have a big fear of not being able to conceive so we're trying early. The only other medication I take is 100 mcg of synthroid for hypothyroidism.
Now we're getting to the real question. I've been having some really odd symptoms lately, and I don't know if its due to coming off of the birth control or... something else. I've been nauseas every day, morning noon and night. I don't think its a side effect of the metformin, because in the past when I've taken it I've never had nausea but instead have had other GI issues such as mild diarrhea which usually subsides within the first week. I've also had bad headaches, extreme fatigue, hunger, cravings, sore legs with cramping, frequent urination, a weird dull achy pain in both breasts, and an odd sensation in my abdomen, like a pulling and mild cramping. I noticed some CM coming off of the BCP, but I've also read information saying that women with PCOS can have what appears to be CM with an egg-white consistency but it's not.
My question here is are these symptoms of coming off of BCP, metformin, or pregnancy? I keep telling myself that its impossible I'm going to get pregnant because so many odds are stacked against me and I'm on such a low dose of the metformin right now- so has anyone else gotten pregnant naturally and been overweight? I don't have actual cysts, as I've had many sono's before and no cysts ever showed, just the symptoms of PCOS.
I don't know when to take a PG test because my periods are irregular so sometimes the cycle is 30 days, sometimes its 40. Should I just take a test now or wait another week?
PCOS is a confusing matter :-(
Advice? Suggestions? help? :-)

just an opinion.. but if you think at all that you could be pregnant, i would buy an at home pregnancy test that has 2 in the box, use one and if its negative wait a week and try again. I only say this because having pcos, its best to know if yur pregnant asap, so you can get proper care. the tests are inexpensive, so it doesnt hurt to check, atleast you'll know one way or another. once again, just my opinion. good luck
I totally agree with the previous poster. You need to get a HPT and take one of those before doing anything else. Please keep us posted!

Another update- I'm sorry I'm so obsessed but you guys have been such a great help. I've noticed other things too- a constant headache, weird bumps on my areola, hunger, sensitive nose. I think my main fear is testing and then miscarrying. I'm more afraid of a miscarriage than being pregnant. Anyone else have this?

I was totally terrified of miscarrying when I found out I was pregnant. Of course, mine was a suprise since I had been married for almost ten years and we hadn't been preventing. It just happened after I lost a lot of weight on Weight Watchers. LOL...I was 5 lbs away from my goal weight and BAM! By the way, I had all the symptoms you have right now when I got my BFP.

So good to know that I'm not alone!
I'm going to take a HPT on Saturday because my husband will be home with me (he leaves early for work and I don't, and I know its best to test first thing in the morning). I will definitely update and let you know whats going on- but thank you so much for putting my mind at ease a little bit more each time I look here for advice :-)

AGH! Frustrating! I just took an HPT and there were NO LINES. No control line- nothing.
I'm buying a new pack tomorrow and trying again. This is so frustrating!

I always had such a problem actually hitting the stick that I ended up using a cup and dunking the stick. (sorry if TMI)

I tried another HPT on Saturday morning ( I had to use a cup too, lol) and it was negative. I still feel off though, like I'm still having odd symptoms. I might try again in a few days and see what the results are.

Judging by your original post, I'm assuming you don't know how many DPO you are or even if you did O, right? It would make it a lot easier to know when to test. If not, I'd just say wait a week or so and try to test again. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Did you try calling your doctor to see what they say about all these symptoms?
