hi cysters

im 18 an jus found out 2day that i have pcos.
iv had d irregular periods an acne an hair growth etc..an hav been on dianette for the past 6mnths.
but i dont know mch about pcos my doc said it was nothing to worry about until i want to concieve bt having read through some things on this website i think its a bigger problem than he lead me to believe.

im findin the website brill!!! bt im so overwellmed of wat im reading, feeling a lil scared n its great dat theres other people out there that are sharing the same thoughts as me.

i jus dont no wat to do now as my doc tells me its nat a problem...do i have to go on medication...change my lifestyle to help control the possible consquences of pcos???

I'd find an endocrinologist in your area and make an appointment. They deal more with the clinical / laboratory side of PCOS than an ob/gyn does. They will run blood tests to find out what your levels are for insulin, etc. There is some good information on this site about what your test results can show. I also think and endo would be the better person to prescribe any medications you may need.

I understand how scary this can be because I was feeling pretty much the same way you are when I was first diagnosed. Hang in there. Information is good, but don't let it overwhelm you. I'm here if you need an ear.

I agree with the others def. book an apt. with an Endo; she or he will probably run some more tests / & maybe another ultrasound to rule out anything else..... Also, you will prob. have the option of going on certain BCP to regulate your periods and maybe MET (if you are insulin resistant). Some people go the alternative route and do herbs etc.... so you can look into that too..

Good luck! Also, diet and excercise are very imp. the less you weight the better your pcos will be controlled
