My Dr I am sure thinks I am just lazy but that is not the case I am really trying and having no success>>>>>>> HELP PLEASE Thanks Julia
Most doctors were pretty convinced I was a lazy pig and a liar so that seems pretty standard. What is your diet like? I probably don't have to tell you to avoid highly processed carbs but if you were eating them before without problems and had the hysterectomy maybe the hormone changes are making them a problem now. You said your diet hasn't changed but maybe it wasn't that great before?? Not trying judge, I'm not perfect 100% of the time that's for sure!
I do stay away from carbs and any over processed foods I eat alot of salads and onlt low carb vegetables. I avoid pastas and breads and eat small portions but I am stuck it wont stop it just keeps on coming I eat healthly my husband is a nutritionist so I know what to avoid and how much to eat. I consume alot of water instead of sugar loaded beverages. I am following all of the rules but it is just not working I am not diabetic I have been tested I am at a loss and do not know what to do. Do you know of any lab tests out there to check for any possible problems that I could be having doe to all of the hormone changes and imbalances.
I'm sorry, but I don't know of any tests besides the ones that are usually run with a diagnosis of PCOS. I haven't recommended this before, but Kat, the owner of this site may have some info for you. You might start a thread on Ask Kat with your info. She travels quite a bit, so it may take a while to get an answer.

Sounds like your diet is excellent! I can't imagine your frustration with all that weight gain. I hope you find out what the problem is!
I think if your docs don't believe you're making an effort (and you certainly are), you need new docs.
I used to live in Wichita Falls (1999-2000) and I didn't find any help for my PCOS there. I went to the University of Texas in Dallas. PCOS wasn't well-known then, so they treated me for a blood-sugar issue, but I'll bet they're on to it now and have specialists who can help. My health insurance paid for it.
I now live near Chicago where I found a doc who could help me, but this was only recently.
A few years ago, my gyn was going to put me on Lupron to shrink my uterine fibroids for safer surgical removal (one, of the four, weighed almost 4 pounds.)
Between the side effects of mood swings and weight gain that she told me might happen with Lupron - I opted not to take it.
I gained a lot of weight on BCP's, too.
The week I went off of BCP's I lost nearly 7 pounds with no change in diet.
Simply an anecdotal situation, but if you haven't changed your diet, you might want to find other women who've taken Lupron to see if they had weight issues, and what they did to curtail them.
In the meantime...what are you doing for exercise?
