Hi sanya,

I've noticed that no one has yet responded to your post, so I'll reply. I haven't heard of discharge specifically being a side-effect of metformin, so my suggestion to you is to see your OB/GYN as soon as you can and discuss your symptoms to him/her.

I don't want to diagnose you, as I'm no expert, but the discharge could be:

1) that your period is about to start
2) or that your ovulating
3) or you may have a vaginal infection

Only a doctor will know for sure, though, so if I were you, I'd make an appointment very soon....for your own peace of mind, if nothing else.

Some women will develop a recurring yeast infection from Metformin. Since Met is designed to change sugar levels, it can affect the pH level in your vagina. The change in pH is was would cause a yeast infection.
I suggest you call the dr so you can have it looked into.
