Unhappy Help! Mustache!

I just noticed last night that I am getting a mustache. Its mainly just on the corner of my mouth, but the hair is very noticable. What is the best method to get rid of it? Waxing? Plucking? Etc? I am just devastated. I just sat and bawled last night. Thanks for your help in advance.

I get a little bit of a moustache in the same place. I prefer waxing. For some reason, plucking there hurts so damn much. I hate when the beautician plucks the strays.....ugh.

It lasts a long while for me....

I prefer bleaching mine now. I used to shave it when I was younger. But now I also have quite a bit of hair on my entire face and it would look really dumb to have no hair above my lip and still have chinny chin chin hair and sideburns. Occassionally all the hair on my face gets very long so I give it a haircut with scissors.

Hello

((hugs)) I know. I just shave mine, I used to cream it, but now that makes my face all sore.

I am thinking of just bleaching it because it is just a few hairs. I am just devastated. I was hoping I wouldnt get the facial hair.

I used to have one before Aldactone, and always bleached it. I'm so glad I never started to shave it. Waxing would be mu second preferance.

Good luck.

It is such a drag to have to worry about such things! I usually use a cream like Neet and tweeze any stragglers. I used to get it waxed but I don't have the time anymore to make an appt. I have tried a home kit and just made a mess! I am never without my trusty pocket size tweezers!

I used to bleach but a blonde moustache is still noticeable! I tried trimming it but don't want to be stubbly when I kiss my boyfriend! So I've just started using cream and have found that to be pretty good.

Just a word of warning, and I don't know if anyone else's experience would back me up here. Waxing your moustache can make the hair grow back thicker, stronger and darker. This has been my experience. I asked about it on a site dedicated to hair removal and they said that will happen with hair on the face. The body sees the hair follicle as being damaged so rushes blood to it which strengthens the hair.

Someone had a theory it only happened with people of European origin for some reason, can't remember why!

I totally understand your shock, I felt the same way and still cry about it. But if you use cream it feels so much better for it just to be gone, otherwise all the time you're self conscious even if it's bleached.

Hope you find a method that makes you feel better!

Honey

I would have to agree with you Honey! I have tried about everything and the cream works best for me. It really helps to make my skin smoother too. I don't think I could get my face waxed as often as I would need to. Although creaming is just as much a pain it's pretty easy to do.

If you can afford it, I'd have electrolysis done. If you get the hairs as they come through, before the problem gets out of hand, it's much easier to manage. I alternate electrolysis with waxing, because I let mine go a bit. I haven't found the hair comes back any thicker or darker. If anything, I have it waxed when there are a lot of fine hairs - the few thick dark ones I get zapped!
