Angry HELP...My Sugar Drops Everyday!!

What is going on now with it?
I've begun to eat breakfast everyday....in fact, I'm even eating throughout the day, but my sugar dropped again this late afternoon. Why am I still having the sugar crashes. It's crashing now more than before when I was eating 1x a day! I've not been to a doc yet, still seeking to get appt. w/ a free clinic....they have one in my county. Is this the way my body is adjusting itself back to norm or what?????

First of all, what are you eating when you do eat something?? I learned through diabetic teaching classes that you have to eat a carb with some fat. The fat stretches the sugar out and makes it more level without having spikes. For example, if you were to eat an apple, your sugar would spike up and then back down again causing the low...If you eat an apple with some peanut butter or cheese (at least 5 grams of fat), it would make the sugar more level instead of having the spike up and down. I hope this helps and pm me anytime if you need anything...

OMG! Thats exactly what happened yesterday! I decided to eat an apple around 2pm, thinking the sugar would sustain me til dinner a few hrs later. By the time I was preparing dinner around 5pm, sugar was dropping like crazy. Ok, so I have to eat carb + fat...to keep it level. I will definitely give it a try. I'm getting frustrated with this high and low everyday! Thx so much Fly.

yeah, it does make it so much more frustrating, O. I was thinking the same thing the other day. Like how am I to cope, when Im making poor food choice selections, but I have to keep this sugar regulated. I've been charting it lately as I have not yet been to a doc.

You are so very welcome...I am glad I could help...Yes, you just want to grab anything to get it back up and you eat more than you are suppose to also. You are suppose to eat 15 grams of carbs every 15 minutes and then check your level to make sure it isn't too high. But when mine drops, I get real hungry and want to eat everything in sight to get it back up again. But I have to stop myself and eat 15 grams and wait 15 minutes to see how I feel again. If it is still low, then I eat 15 grams more...If it is real low, eat a piece of candy or glucose tablets to bring it up quickly. If it gets too low, go to the emergency room because that is dangerous...
