I've recently been diagnosed with PCOS and am having an awful time finding the right doctors. My gynecologist started doing blood work back in July 07', but according to them, everything looks normal. I also told my doctor about painful intercourse I have been experiencing; however like my diagnosis of PCO, they did not seem too concerned with it. The final straw was when my PA told me that I need to lose weight before they can do anything else. The thing is, I've been trying to lose weight for months with no results!

I have just about had it and feel that there is no hope, so before I give up..I desperately need some guidance. Does anyone know of a great doctor in Austin, TX or a website that will allow be to search for competent ones?

I highly recommend Dr. Espinosa at Texas Diabetes and Endocrinology -- she's been great, did labs to dbl-check my issues and got me started on Metformin almost immediately, and I think that above all has helped me. If you're not insulin resistant that might not be the path you need, but take your bloodwork with you when you go see whomever you do get an appt with.

NOTE: The office is BUSY - so be prepared to wait a few weeks for an appt, but they are worth the wait, imho.
