I got pregnant while on fortamet (metformin) and switched doctors. My new doctor told me to stop taking the metformin, when I was pregnant about 3 weeks. My first blood test (3 weeks-6/26) said about 3700 hCG and 17.5 progesterone. One week later (4 weeks-7/2) I had an hCG of 25000 and progesterone was 17.4. It dropped one tenth. I'm so scared I will miscarry from low progesterone. Should I start taking the metformin again today since I can't talk to my doctor until Monday? Will that hurt my body to start up again after being off of it for a week? I know that it can regulate hormones and I take the extended release type. Please give me you opinions.

My dr. had me take metformin for the first 12 weeks. It helps prevent miscarriage.
