Here's my Natural Progesterone story. I hope it helps you. Eight years after being diagnosed, I was not able to take Glucophage because of Lactic Acidosis. I was ready to accept that I was going to be fat, sick, hairy and infertile the rest of my shortened life. I started reading about cysters using Natural Progesterone to help them ovulate and I did a lot of research. This is what I found out. To get your progesterone levels up in your body and level out estrogen dominence(which is a huge problem with most cysters), for three months take the progesterone for 21 days:starting on day five of your cycle. Take a break to see if AF comes within a week. If she does, then count that as cycle day 1 and start the whole process over. She might not show up. If this happens, then count the seventh day after you stopped taking the progesterone as day 1 and start taking it again.Do this for three months. It causes ovulatory shut down, which means you probably will not ovulate BUT it gets rid of the cysts in your ovaries. On the fourth month DO NOT take progesterone until day 15 or 3 days after you ovulate. This is when the body normal increases progesterone. Take it for 14 days.If you are TTC, then make sure you test for pregnancy before you stop taking it because stopping it that quickly can cause miscarriage. This will help you ovulate and help PMS etc...
I did this and O'd and had an AF for the first time in eight years without provera. I was so excited, I cried...my DH even teared up because it gave us hope that we will have a baby of our own. Also,as a side note, I've dropped about 22lbs in the last month with no diet or exercise.
I hope this helps you.
Hugs, ang

Hi Isabelle, I'm Elisha and I just started progesterone cream. I've studied the progesterone thing pretty extensively and am excited to see what happens, I stared it at on the 10th day of my cycle ( I get my period around that time so I started early). I'm hoping next month I can start at day 13 like a normal cycle and take it till day 28 (if I make it that long without breakthrough bleeding). Us girls with PCOS don't have the levels of progesterone we need to set up our next cycle since we don't ovulate and get that progesterone "boost". If you take progesterone your convincing your body that you ovulated and set up the second half of your cycle. Kind of like a domino effect. Since we don't have enough progesterone its like a gap in the sequence and the dominos stop there. We also have excess estrogen which also suppresses our progesterone levels. The progesterone is a tool to "rairoad" our hormones. I hope that helps some. What are your periods like? Are you taking progesterone along with your clomid regiment? I've gotten my period every other week or so since I had my daughter in '98.
Good Luck with the Clomid. I took clomid for about 6 months in 2003 (unsuccessful). Don't worry if you feel like a moody lunatic, clomid made me horribly irritable amongst other things. I've heard that is the general consensus with clomid users.
