Default Help~Question About Gluc XR

Ok I started Glucophage XR last Friday. things seem to be great. I basically have no side effects. The only problem I had was a little bit of stomach upset and a headache when I first started. This week I am suppose to be upping to two pills a day then three and then see what happens.

My question is this since oh I would say a few days after I started I noticed that I am breaking out even worse especially on my face. Yuck! Is this normal? I am debating seeing a dermantologist but don't know if that will even help me out. Also if this is normal is there anything else that I will see an increase of ie: facial hair? And my other question is this is there anythinng that I can take that will help with the access hair and the acne?

Thanks for the help.

Look at it this way. By taking Gluc, you are reducing your insulin level. In doing that, your other hormones will start to balance themselves out on their own. That's why we start getting periods again when we go on Gluc. All that hormone change at one time is bound to cause some break-outs and possibly mood-swings, etc. If it doesn't even out within a few months of you topping out on your dosage, then I'd think about seeing a doc.

You'll go through a transitionary period where your hormones just kinda flare up and then they'll settle back down. It's the medication working, stirring things up to so speak.

I know that once I had lost enough weight where I could really get my insulin resistance under control with medication and exercise, I went through a phase where everything went haywire for a while. But it settled back down after a few months.

So, wait it out and give it at least a month or so.
