Default HELP!! Question about health insurance?

Yesterday I was looking up ob/gyns on my insurance and 2 REs came up. Now supposedly my insurance doesn't cover infertility. Anyone have any idea why they would come up as being in network. I would appreciate any input. THANKS in advance!!!

People go to REs for reasons other than infertility. Some go to have their PCOS treated or other ailments with the reproductive system. There may be certain procedures that your RE performs that are covered. Often when an insurance doesn't cover in fertility, it is talking about in vitro. You should read your plan document carefully and see what it says is not covered.

Thanks Josie. I looked on the internet for an explanation of benefits and I couldn't find anything about infertility. That it did or did not cover. I'll probably have to call the doctor and have them run the insurance to check.

Hello,

I work in the medical field and having gone through the whole pcos circus with my providers and insurance, turns out insurance (in my case) did not cover infertility but would cover the expenses relating to determining why I was not getting pregnant(ie, missed period, metobolic disorder, insulin resist...etc) My insurance covered everything from lab workups, office visits, xrays, u/s, all ordered by my RE, my advice is do as much as you can with an RE they are all about getting you a BFP, I have yet to find an obgyn that went to far out of their way to help..
