Hi,I'm new. I was diagonosed a couple of weeks ago with pcos type 1. I took blood test and got them back today. The doctor was very pushy and didn't take time with me. I was the last patient and I could tell she was ready to go home. Anyway, she told me that my estrogen was fine, testosterone was borderline and progesterone was low. She gave me provera for my period to come on and then gave me a birth control patch. Is this the only way doctors treat patients with PCOS? Why didn't she give me Metoformin like I see people are taking on this board? Should I go to another doctor?
IMO opinion I would try another Dr. Alot of Dr's use BCP as a quick fix for PCOS! Good Luck! *hugs*

Hey! I was put on Metoformin. I have high blood and my periods do not come every month. That is why he put me on that. The thing you are doing is hurting you liver. I am not trying to hurt you, but it is too much to be taking at one time. I would go to another doctor. I am in college to become a nurse so I would know what else to say about stuff like this. Well if you have any questions and I can answer them I will. Bye seewtie GOOOOOOOOOOOD Luck

Go see another Dr, right away! I'd reccomend a naturopath who specializes in women's health, if possible. Remember, you are paying this person, or your insurance company, who you pay, is paying this person to take care of you. If you're not happy, take your money elsewhere and dont put up with that stuff. A Naturopath will be able to look at your levels more closely and tailor your therapies more individually as well. good luck!
