Default Help reallly needed - just being diagnosed

Hello all - I am amazed at this site, and although it provides a wealth of info, I am still so confused - just trying to find my feet!

I know I have most likely had PCOS for 10 years or so, and I feel that I have been so let down by the so called professionals. I have definitely self diagnosed some time ago, but found it impossible for anyone to believe me... moving on!

I hope that you can help me out there.. cos I have an appt with a specialist next week, and I don't want to be fobbed off.

I have suffered incredibly scant periods for 10 years, together with severe pain and incredible tiredness, night sweats... More worrying my weight fluctuates incredibly, and I can't control it. I have put it down to water retention, but when it lasts for 4 months and I have tried water tablets etc.. nothing happens. Up until this year, I have have experienced some respite and my weight sometimes normalises... but it becoming less and less. I'm so worried and feel very low. Does anyone else have this problem or can you offer me any advice as to why this is happening to me. Big hugs in advance!!!! Thanks girlies Lisa xx

You know what I did?? I printed out a page off the internet that had all of the PCOS symptoms and I highlighted the ones that I was affected by, and gave it to the RE at the consultation. The RE was actually grateful that I did research on PCOS and the symptoms that go along with it because he doesn't have to explain everything to me!

Also make sure to write down these questions that you asked in your post as well as any other ones that you may have - that way you won't forget!

Good luck and let us know how your appointment goes!
