Default help with testing

I'm being tested for PCOS after 3+ years of unexplained infertility. It may be a bit of a long shot, as my only symptoms are long cycles, overstimulation with Gonal-F (prompting a conversion from IUI to IVF), and multiples cysts on my ovaries. Hormone levels have always tested normal; I ovulate on my own; I am thin and not hirsute.

Yesterday I did the 3hr GTT with insulin, but today's results only showed that they tested fasting insulin rather than every hour, as they did with glucose. Shouldn't they be testing insulin more than once?

Also, can someone confirm that these glucose #s are normal?

fasting: 81
1 hour: 135
2 hour: 116
3 hour: 86

Thanks!

Thanks -- I did look there but was somewhat confused by: "A truly normal glucose response is 110 or lower." for the 2 hour range. I'm looking for anything the least bit out of normal range, since whatever condition I have has escaped many, many tests and procedures.

My bigger question is whether they should be testing insulin throughout the test period. They are going to throw out the serum today unless I call and tell them to test it.

They definately should test the insulin. You can have a 'normal' glucose level and still be IR. HTH!

Thanks, Jean! They held the serum and were able to test the insulin. I should get the results today.
