Default Help with Vitex

Hi All - I was hoping someone could help me through this... My DH and I have been trying 4+ years, and due to PCOS, I am anovulate, though all my lab work shows I have plenty of eggs, and hormones are within range, we still cannot fall pregnant. I decided to try Vitex last Febuary, to see if it could help ovulation. Recently I lost 20 pounds, not drastically, and have been able to keep off the weight, even through the holiday season. I was wondering if anyone had been on Vitex for a year or more, and what happened, what did you do, or if you have any advice for me. I would appreciate any info.
Thanks,
Sarah

I have used Vitex intermittently for the past 4 years. It has always helped, but I have gotten much better results when I started looking at the picture from a holistic POV.

I stopped using capsules that could have been sitting on the shelf for who knows how long and started getting a tincture from a herbalist. I also (after research) paired it with Dong Quai. Finally, I was able to conceive quite easily on the herbal regimen, no sugar/refined carbs, adding foods in their natural state (raw or fermented) and the loss of 10% of my body weight.

You mentioned that you lost 20 lbs, which is awesome. I see you did some type of fertility detox, which could help, although I don't really know much about that. All I can tell you that what helped me was not looking at Vitex like a drug, like Clomid, but rather as a part of what I was doing to heal my body.

Sorry if I sound too fruity! Just wanted to pass this along, in case it helps.

thanks so much for the reply jessica! i really appreciate it. i did clomid for 6 months, though i only list three in my signature cause after the 2nd month it did nothing for me. i was hoping to see if i continue to take vitex that it continues to make a difference. i have been able to have periods on my own since having it, though (tmi sorry!) not as heavy and as long as i did when i was having them normally (4-5 days, good heavy flow), but i have become alot more regular. i am hoping it keeps up. i have not found in my area a place i could do tinctures with them, and i probably do put more trust in gnc and their stocking shelves that i probably should, but its the only way i have available to take to me just now.
i will do some research on dong quai, i have not read up on it before, however i did run across in the last few days inositol, which i am having my naturopath look into (i would do tinctures from her, but she lives overseas in brisbane) to see if it would work as well.
thank you though for your info - and congrats on your baby girl!!!!

Ive been using Vitex on and off for over a year and I love it!
It helped regulate my cycles somewhat and it gave me energy and made me a happier person overall...I wish i could say it helped with a BFP but it hasnt...or maybe DH and I BD at the wrong times..my body plays alot of tricks on me..
I also used it with Dong Quai and i think its a great combo! There are alot of Vitex success stories so I think its worth a shot. I also take soy to help with ovulation and that has worked for me too on some months...I notice herbs work best with me when im eating better...but when im eating bad...doesnt work soo good.
Good luck to you!
