Default This helped me

I'm coming out of lurkdom to briefly share something I've tried that's really helping me.

I don't post on this board and really only come on here to read the acne issues. I have a sister that is on Soulcysters and I don't want to tread on her territory, so to speak, but I wanted to share this anyway.

I, like many of you, have problems with acne and specifically, cystic acne. I've tried nearly every product a dermatologist could think to put me on (though I've never tried Accutane.....scared me to death).

Anyway, I get deep, really painful cystic acne on my chin (2-3 at a time and they will last for weeks). I did get relief when I was on Yasmin bc (which I highly recommend for those with acne problems.......better then ANY other's I've tried), but decided recently to stop taking bc. Of course, my acne came back.

So....I started looking for other things that could help. I am cheap and hate spending money on this stuff (the constant dermatologists visits drove me nuts since they never gave me anything that helped!), so it had to be inexpensive. I started poking around on a website that helps you find homeopathic remedies and it suggested Calcarea Sulphurica. I went over to Wild Oats and picked up a container of 30c Calc. Sulph. (Boiron brand) and decided to give it a shot. It worked really really well.

I thought it was probably a fluke and only took one containers worth.

My acne came back and I decided to try it again. It worked again. I swear to you that within 24-48 hours, the acne started to heal and no new one's have popped up. The few times I thought I had something popping up (like last night), I put a big dab of Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask on it which pretty much takes care of it.

Forgive me for sounding like an infomercial .

So.......it's worth trying. Homeopathic remedies are totally safe and this particular one is even safe enough (at the adult doseage) for infants. Basically, you want to disolved five of the little balls under your tongue three times a day (they taste like sugar balls). I would buy two containers and use it for at least a week, then taper off (one container will last about 4-5 days and costs about $5 at Wild Oats).

BTW, the indication for Calc. Sulph. is for acne and boils (I think some on this board have had problems with those too). I know most of you probably don't want to keep trying things, but it really did help me and it is an inexpensive thing to try.

I really hope this helps someone. I'll check back later to see if anyone has any questions.

Hi,
So glad you gave us some info. Wish you would visit more often!!!! I don't think you would be treading on her territory. But then again that is between ya'll I guess.....

Do you buy this stuff at any health food store????? I'm interesting in trying it!!!
I really appreciate the informantion you gave us. And I am so glad you found results with something besides the dermotologist. They can be frustrating....

I bought it at Wild Oats (a health food grocery store here). It is in the homeopathic remedies section.

HTH!

Default use homeopathic meds wisely

Homeopathic medicines are great. I have been seeing a homeopathic doctor for 2 years now, my hormones have now "normalized" and I am hoping that with the next test my insulin levels will be in the normal range as well. My caution with homeopathic medicines, is that they are still a medicine and if it is possible go to see a homeopathic doctor! and when you go to see him/her, be patient, it is a different sort of medicine than the western medicine where we want something to fix it NOW! It may take two years to fix it but it will be permanently fixed, and with no side effects.
Just my thoughts.
