Default hemmoragic ovarian cysts / midcycle pain - advice needed

Hi,
Ive been ill for a few months now ( still on a NHS waiting list to see a specialist).
Basically i had horrendous pain - worse ever in lower abdoman ,doc thought i had appendicitus so was sent to hospital.
Let out of hospital told it was "Midcycle pain".
Then basically to and frowed in and out of A&E and kept getting this midcycle pain diagnosis.
Eventually i got a scan.I had a hemmoragic ovarian cyst that ruptured .
Have recieved no treatment yet any way been in hospital yet again on morphine drip and guess what been told go home its midcycle pain!.
Im not being funny but ive had kids , natural births and ive never felt such a horrendous pain as this.Even with max amount of morphine i still felt it.I feel like im being totally fobbed off.I see a specialist soon ( the one ive been waiting to see since the begining of alll this).
Any advice. The midcycle pain thing doesnt wash with me !Im not even midcycle when this happens i have constant dull like period pain then now and again these really acute episodes please advise .

My hemorrhagic cysts always happen on day 19 of my cycle. You can set your watch by it. Not much anyone can do for you except let it run its course. Mine is usually better within a day or two.

I hope you get relief soon!

I was very intrigued by your post b/c in the last 2 weeks I have been having this sharp, pulsating, sporadic pain in my lower left abdomen.Today it was worse then it has been and I was so worried I would have to go to the ER.I made an appt with my PCP for Monday b/c I am little concerned.I am wondering if it could be my ovaries.I am currently on my period and thought once my period started it would go away but it hasn't. Boy does it hurt!!!! Usually I try advil and heat, sometimes that works sometimes it doesn't. It doesn't hurt to press on the area when I get it I just know inside of me it hurts something awful. Hopefully it is nothing serious!!!Maybe I am having hemoraggic cysts too.I have never heard of that.....

Hi i have constant pain throughout -in fact i have had pain since july - but dull. When the acute pain starts nothing can help - even Morphine!
Is this normal and am i suppose to live with this until my cycles stop when im in my 50's?
Previous to this i have never suffered before.
I cannot live a normal live now im in constant pain and permanantly on pain killers which is not healthy.

I have also experienced this. I was told that it was cysts rupturing too. I have now learned that I have endometriosis, which also can cause serious painful periods. This may be something that you may want to talk about with your dr to see if you have some of the symptoms.

Good luck, and I hope you get relief soon.

I actually got dx because I had a hemorrhagic cyst that had ruptured and I was in so much pain I couldn't stand or find any relief. I went to the doc who did a scan and I was told that I had a large "pool" of blood in my abdomen that was irritating my muscle wall and that was where all of my discomfort was coming from (and was told also that I had PCOS that same day). I was fortunate b/c my blood reabsorbed itself and didn't cause me any further problems.

I hope you get some relief soon. Good luck!

Default Updating for my last post on this thread....

When I went to the doc. on Monday for the sharp, sporadic pain I am having in my left lower abdomen she said it very well could be an ovarian cyst that has ruptured or is getting ready to. She said even though I am not in constant pain it could still be that. The cyst can determine the amount of pain and the type of pain someone is having,as well as the persons pain tolerance. Me I can't compare it to anything but period cramps, and boy is it way worse then that. I am having an ultrasound done on Tuesday morning. I am hoping they find something to explain the reason for the pain. They said if it doesn't have to do with my ovaries then they will have to look at bowels next b/c they are in the same area of the body.HMHMHMHMHMHM!!!! Okay,a colonoscopy does not sound fun,so hopefully we don't have to go that route!!!

Toxicbunny, I know the irritation that comes with being fobbed off by the hospital about midcycle pain. I was told that I was having "midcycle pain and spotting" after collapsing in the shower and I bled for a week, heavier than any period. The hospital didn't even keep me in for observation. I had to hobble home and go to another hospital later in the week. Even when in the hospital the NHS waiting list to see a specialist is pretty long. I hope your situation gets resolved soon, and everything works out ok.

Hi thanks i feel totally fobbed off !
Apparently the cyst ruptured a few month ago bled into my stomach cavity etc and was told everything would heal.
Since then ive been in and out of A&E .The pain when it starts is unbearable ( i can stand pain , had all my children drug free!).I also feel sick and if im going to pass out .I cant stand sit walk etc.
Been to see a consultant told nothing wrong with me Gynaloically Hemmoragic cysts this size are normal ???
I have dull pain normally then it will get severe .
A week ago i was admitted to A& E with horrendous pain put on morphine there and told it was "Midcycle pain - yet again.
Cant see a gynae as one has seen me and said im fine? told to basically put up with the pain and keep coming back to A& E .How long will they let this go on for ?
The consultant in the meantime has refered me for a bowel scan but i know its gynea problem.
Will the scan on my vbowels pick up gynea prob?
Im in the UK and lets just say we have the NHS !
