Default Hep-C, Hypothyroid, and PCOS...which causes which symptom???

Hello awsome women of Soulcysters and thank you for this site!

I have had chronic hepatitis C for almost 20 years, my last biopsy showed only mildly abnormal tissue. They have not seen "fatty liver" or any cirrhosis thank goodness. I also had total thyroidectomy last year (papillary carcinoma) and have had PCOS since puberty, I remember back then the first thing my gyno did was give me Enovid the super high estrogen BCP, yuck!

So I get tired, of course, that's expected, and I have mild depression, also expected and I take Lexapro that helps some, and I take Armour Thyroid since I don't have one any more.

But the over-heating, weight and faded sex drive bother me the most. My doctor, Dr. Tanen doesn't want to put me back on the Metaformin I used to take before I moved to the DC area because of my liver but he gives me 100mg Spiro and wants me to go to a gyno to get BCP (he doesn't prescribe those). So now I'm looking for a gyno in my area. I am often treated like a pariah when doctors hear I have chronic hep-C and we know how difficult it is to get really good care for anything related to our hormones to begin with!
I guess I can go see the top liver specialist at Fairfax Hospital and see if he would okay me going back on Metaformin and go to a gyno and get BCP and see what happens.

It is scarey starting any new drug because my hormones are so volitile who knows if the BCP perscribed makes me fatter or crazier than I already am? What if the second one we try does? What if nothing ever gets better than it is right now? I think these are probably common thoughts/feelings for anyone with hormone disorders, I wish I could go to one or two doctors who would test and treat any/all my health issues!! I have an ENT, and ENDO, and Gastro(liver), an Allergist, a GYNO at any given time and they don't even talk to one another, how crazy is that?!?!?!?!

Thank you for letting me rant, I feel very frustrated and powerless today.
Ellen
