Hi there,
I was just in a simliar situation and have held out for 3 years since my ds but we are ready to try again, well after my op on the 25th.. Anyway I really believe that Metformin has helped, I am on Diannette to as it is meant to be the best we can get in the UK (U.S seems well ahead) Up until about 3 months ago my periods were regular - which is amazing for me, my acne wasnt that bad, my hair loss was greatly reduced and my face/body hair wasnt quite as excessive or growing as quick - only plucking once every 1/2 days now back to daily.....
Things started going down hill a few months back but I do believe that the metformin helped calm the PCOS down for 3 years and also I have very very high testosterone levels and could feel/get agressive really easy, but that too has calmed down. I no it doesnt work for everyone but they should let you give it a try, if they do try and stick with it as I had some crap side effects for a month or 2 but it was so worth while.
Metformin -( I am told) helps balance the hormone levels and has show in some women to help keep the cysts at bay.
Hope it all goes well......
Take care and best wishes xx
