Default Herbs for PCOS

I was wondering if anyone knew what herbs are beneficial for women with PCOS. I am trying to cuts down on the meds and go "natural". Maybe there is a thread on here somewhere or a link to something, anyone know? I started taking viniegar, chromium and tomorrow will start cinnamon tablets. I just cut out my metformin and now take Lexapro 10mg.

Any info would be wonderful.

Tracy!

If you're looking for herbs, why don't you try Chinese herbs? I have to warn you that this is not for the faint hearted, but it actually helped me. I had not had a period for something like 8 months, and discussed my options with my doctor. I studied Acupuncture and therefore was in contact with alot of colleagues who also did herbs. I decided to give it a go, as opposed to the other option of taking meds.

I took herbal medication for a month, stewed them myself in a clay pot and my period came back. The best way to describe them is to think of dirt and branches mixed with water and stewed, same colour, same taste. I'd have to sometimes force myself to gulp, but it was well worth it. What chinese medicine aims to do is to make your body work for you. Herbalists will prescribe a mixture of herbs designed to suit your individual needs to get your body working again.

I'd say if youre game enough, give it a try, just remember to have a nice big juicy peach or orange handy to reward yourself with after every concoction you drink!
