Here's my story.. Looking for some Pcos friends

Hi I'm new to this site...I was told I had Pcos when I was 16 and I'm now 30. My husband and I have been trying for a baby for 51/2 years now. My doctor told me when I was 16 that I didn't need to worry about the pcos until I got married and wanted to conceive. So of course I didn't think anymore about it until then. When we got married we wanted to try right away so we tried and nothing happened. Then I went to the Doctor and she said okay now lets put you on a fertility drug and that was it nothing else just gave me a prescription and sent me on my way. I had also asked her if it could be possible if I have endometriosis and her answer to me was "No". She didn't do any test or anything just told me "No". So I went away from there thinking the miracle drug was going to make me preg. but no..So our insurance changed and I had to find a new doctor. I found a really good one who took care of me from the start. He said lets do surgery on you to see whats going on. So we did that in Nov. of 2000. The outcome was tramatic to me. He said I was one of the worse cases he has ever seen. I had stage 4 endometriosis, fibroid tumors all over my utures and my left tube didn't look to good, and of course pcos. So he said I needed another surgery to hopefully get rid of most of it. 9 months later I had the 2nd surgery in hopes that that would do the trick, but here I am over a year later in the same spot. The only good thing the surgery did for me that I see gave me normal cycles and I started ovulating so I think. My BBT was perfect for 6 months (it also took 6 months for me to start after surgery) then the wonderful day came and I was normal. I knew for sure this was it I was going to get pregnant now. Then June came. Normal period and it stopped I haven't had one since. Of course I took a preg. test and negative once again. I'm now refered out to a specialist. So I go to her nurse and she has me do a run of test before I can start with the specialist. All my test came back good except my glucose it was at 110 they say thats high for fasting. So now I'm fasting again and have to do the sugar drink test. My results now read 102 and the sugar test normal and my hemoglobian high. Now I have to go see a specialist for that before I can start anything else. Thats where I'm at right now waiting for an appointment. I'm hoping this met. medication will maybe work for me so I'm going to ask the doctor about. So here is hoping. Please Pray for me...

Just wanted to say Welcome Krysta "Wood". Yes it is your other "Wood" cyster. LOL... Anyways..I am glad you shared your story...and I am glad that you are finally getting to the bottom of all the answers you are looking for. I must confess, I have tears in my eyes. It is shocking how this can happen. I will pray for you and am sending you alot of baby dust down this internet wire to you!

I am at the stage where i am about to think about a family (well with in 2 years - want to get married first!) and i dont know what they will find, have this strange sinking feeling my my stomach that i will be in the same boat.

Anyway, as i said i will say a prayer for you.

Welcome to the boards Luvn2stamp! I know you will find it as rewarding as I have.

I am so sorry to hear about all that you've been through in the last 5 1/2 years, you must be a very strong person. I am glad that you have found some answers finally, I know that there are many success stories on these boards regarding metformin so I hope that you will soon join them. I myself have just started met 2 weeks ago and I am hoping that it will help.
