My name is Janice. I'm married (9.5 years now), 30, and I was diagnosed with PCOS 9 years ago, though I'd known something was wrong for much longer than that. I tried a Metformin treatment after my diagnosis, but I stopped it after six months as I wanted a more natural approach. I fiddled around with various diets and a herbal concoction that made me gag, but about 8 years ago I abandoned all research and experimentation that I was doing on myself.
These last 8 years I've been wallowing in misery. I ballooned to 295lbs, the hair on my face started growing like crazy, and I haven't had a regular period without the aid of birth control since I was 16 (and I haven't been on birth control since I was 22). When I do have my periods, they can last for up to three months.
Over the last few months, I've started getting tired of feeling sorry for myself. It started with a few small diet changes, and I've lost 10lbs. Not a lot, but it's a big deal to me. Today I took another step and started doing some research for natural ways (still very important to me) to fight PCOS - and I came across this place.
